Registration Information

Welcome to the Lakewood Local Preschool program! We look forward to meeting you and your child and assisting you in preparing for a fun, challenging, and educational year.

Lakewood offers an outstanding preschool program that serves children with disabilities and also provides an educational opportunity for typically developing children to serve as social and academic peer models. 

We are an Early Childhood Education Grant funded preschool program. The requirements for the Grant have changed over the last year and everything is run through Licking County JFS. If you are interested in a spot in our preschool program, you will have to apply for a grant spot through JFS/Ohio Benefits. 

• The local county jobs and family services agency will determine eligibility for early care and education services CDJFS.
• We will assist families in completing the Online Benefit Application for early care and education services.

We are officially opening our preschool registration for any student 3-5 years of age. You must live within the Lakewood Local School District to attend our preschool. If you have any questions, please contact Allysen Coleman at (740) 928-5878 or by emailing acoleman@lakewoodlocal.k12.oh.us. 

We will be taking calls for registration appointments/screening.

Appointments are available on March 20th and April 10th on a first come first serve basis. 

Please follow these steps:

Step 1: Pre-register by calling Bethany White at 740-928-7126 to schedule an appointment and complete the registration link on FinalForms. 

Step 2: Gather required registration documents: Birth Certificate, Shot Record, Parent’s ID, Proof of Residency, Custody Documents. You will upload required registration documents to Final Forms, or email them to Deb Bowman, registrar, dbowman@lakewoodlocal.k12.oh.us. If you need assistance with this, bring the documents with you to your appointment. 

Step 3: A preschool registration packet will need to be picked up at Lakewood Elementary School. Please complete and bring with you to your registration appointment.

Step 4:  Complete the Online Benefit Application through JFS. If you need assistance, it will be available at your registration appointment.
