Lakewood STEMfest 2022 Winners

Congratulations to Lakewood’s STEMfest 2022 winners! The competition, hosted by The Works: Ohio Center for History, Art & Technology, challenged students to reimagine how we live in the world and envision change for our future. Congratulations to the the following teams on their hard work and determination:

Lakewood High School STEM Club received first place in the Going Green Challenge!

Jackson Intermediate STEM Club received first place in their division. Students were challenged to design the best battery using any five pieces of fruit. They used copper and zinc in each piece of fruit, connected by alligator clips, to light an LED bulb. The team had to present their understanding of circuits and explain their design to a panel of engineers from the community.

Thank you to our teachers who prepared and supported this group of students for the competition. Well done, Lancers!
