Brandon Salyer Joins Lakewood Local School Board
Lakewood Local Schools has selected Brandon Salyer to fill a vacancy on its Board of Education. Mr. Salyer lives in Thornville with his wife Julie and his children August (age 7) and Cole (age 5), who attend Lakewood schools. Mr. Salyer and his wife Julie also are certified foster parents through Licking County, and currently foster a three-month-old baby girl.
Mr. Salyer currently works as Regional Manager for DISH Network, as was previously Regional Manager for MarketSource. He has spent more than 15 years in managerial roles. He also currently serves as the Vice President of the Lakewood Youth Baseball Association. Mr. Salyer earned his bachelor degree in history from The Ohio State University.
“I applied for the open position on Lakewood’s school board because my own children attend Lakewood schools, and I am invested in the growth of the school district,” said Mr. Salyer. “I look forward to continuing to serve the community and be involved to make a positive difference for our children’s future.”
Lakewood selected Mr. Salyer from a total of three applicants for the board position. Applicants were interviewed by the other board members.
“We are excited to welcome Brandon to the school board,” said Lakewood Superintendent Mark Gleichauf. “His commitment to students’ education makes him a great fit for the role.”
Mr. Salyer was sworn in at the June 22 board meeting.
