Lakewood Middle School Hires Adam Ellerbrock as New Assistant Principal
The Lakewood Local Schools Board of Education has named Adam Ellerbrock as Assistant Principal of Lakewood Middle School.
Mr. Ellerbrock’s teaching background is in Social Studies. He has served as a Social Studies teacher at Newark High School since 2015. While in Newark City School District, his experiences and influence included: representing the school as a member of the Superintendent’s Teacher Advisory Committee, designed to advance policies and procedures related district climate and culture throughout the district; executing the duties of a building Administrator on an interim basis, during leadership staffing shortages; co-leading a Professional Development Seminar for colleagues focusing on what educators can do for students dealing with anxiety, depression, and trauma; and developing curriculum and data-driven lessons connected to Ohio Department of Education Social Studies Standards for Inclusion, On-Level, Enriched and Advanced Placement (AP) Classes. Prior to becoming a teacher, Mr. Ellerbrock served five years in the United States Army as a platoon leader, executive officer, and staff officer.
“Through my leadership experiences, I have been able to strengthen my ability in developing and implementing district and building initiatives among diverse backgrounds to help achieve the academic and personal growth of students, staff, families, and the community,” said Ellerbrock. “I look forward to the start of the new school year and becoming a proud member of the Lancer community!”
Mr. Ellerbrock was selected from many qualified applicants for the LMS Assistant Principal position. Applicants were interviewed by LMS Principal Jessica Corum and several staff. His start date is August 21.
“I have worked with Adam while at Newark City Schools, and I know him to be intently focused on developing collaborative ways of communication that help facilitate the
flow of building and district messages and expectations to students, staff, and the community,” said Mrs. Corum. “He is deeply committed to positively impacting the learning and development of our students, while growing the teaching and leadership capabilities of the LMS staff. I believe he will do so in way that will quickly engage everyone and sustain their confidence and trust.”
Mr. Ellerbrock earned his bachelor's degree from The Ohio State University, after which he served in the Army. Upon discharge from his service, he earned his master's degree in education and Social Studies and Global Education license, also from The Ohio State University. He also has another master’s degree in education and educational leadership from the American College of Education. Mr. Ellerbrock has earned two Bronze Star Medals in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
Mr. Ellerbrock lives in Columbus with his wife Ali.
