Lakewood Local School District has selected Kelly Rayburn to fill a vacancy on its Board of Education and appointed two new officers.

Lakewood Local School District has selected Kelly Rayburn to fill a vacancy on its Board of Education, replacing Brittany Misner, who did not seek re-election.

Mrs. Rayburn lives in Harbor Hills with her husband BJ and their two daughters, Elise and Makaela, both of whom have attended Lakewood Schools since Kindergarten.

Mrs. Rayburn has worked in technology since 2008, primarily working within the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and APM (Application Performance Monitoring) software space. Her current role at Dynatrace as a Strategic Customer Success Manager provides her with the opportunity to work with customers on ensuring value realization and strategic success. She also has been a volunteer coach for many years, as well as participating in the district’s recent Strategic Planning work. Mrs. Rayburn is a graduate of London High School in London, Ohio, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and IT from Miami University, in Oxford, Ohio.

“I believe my desire to serve the Lakewood community, coupled with my background in business, technology, and strategic success, will lend itself very well to the future prosperity and success of our district,” said Rayburn. “I want to thank the Board, staff, students, and community for the warm welcome. I will serve our district and community with steadfast commitment and pride and make decisions that serve the greater good. I look forward to working with all involved to ensure Lakewood consistently meets and exceeds our vision, mission statement, core values, and strategic goals.”

Mrs. Rayburn was a write-in candidate for the position. Three other members ran unopposed.

"We are excited to welcome Kelly to the school board,” said Lakewood Superintendent Mark Gleichauf, Ed.D. “She has already shown a willingness to be involved in important projects for our district, and I believe she will be a great fit.

Mrs. Rayburn was sworn in before her first official board meeting yesterday, January 10. At the same meeting, current Board Vice President Jonathan Lynch was appointed as Board President, following the departure of Mrs. Misner, and Board Member Brandon Salyer was appointed Board Vice President.
