At-home learning:

Students with last names A-L will stay home Thursday and Friday.

Students with last names M-Z will stay home Monday and Tuesday.

All students will stay home Wednesday.

While there is no certain schedule that you and your child must follow while doing at home learning, we recommend that you do the following things:

  • Have your child wake up around the same time. This will start them off on a consistent schedule and make waking up for in-person school days easier!

  • Set up a designated classroom/work area for your child.

  • Take breaks! Students don’t have to sit still for hours on end at school, and shouldn’t have to at home, either!

  • Go outside! Give your child the same chance to get fresh air.

  • End at the same time as an in-person day.

ABSENCE

If your student must be absent on an in-person learning day, call (740) 928-8330 or 928-8340 to report the absence and provide a note on the day the student returns. If no call or note is received, the absence will be considered unexcused. Acceptable reasons for excused absences are provided in our Handbook.

TARDY

Students check in at the office anytime they enter school after 7:30am.

LEAVING EARLY

Parents must sign a student out in the office if they are leaving school early. Students should turn in early dismissal notes to the school secretary prior to reporting to their 1st period class.

DROPPING OFF

Parents may drop students off starting at 7:20am. Enter using the east entrance and pull up on the east end of the building to drop off your student(s). If dropping off before 7:20, utilize the east entrance and travel to the back parking lot next to the athletic building to wait. Once bus traffic has cleared, students may use the sidewalk from the athletic parking lot to the auditorium doors. Please exit the drive closest to the football field that takes you to Lancer Rd.

PICKING UP

Parents who pick-up children at dismissal time should enter the most convenient entrance. Travel through the parking lot and wait in the back parking lot next to the athletic building. No car traffic is permitted in front of the Middle School between 2:15 and 2:35.

VISITING

Please connect with teachers and administrators via email, phone or virtual call when possible as we are limiting visitors to our buildings. When you need to visit the building, wear a face covering and follow all posted directional signs to support social distancing. As always, ring the bell at the main entrance and enter to the office to sign in and receive a visitor’s pass.
