Lakewood High School has hired Jeremy Walpole as the new Head Varsity Football Coach. Coach Walpole was approved at the March 11 regular Board of Education meeting, and he has more than 20 years of coaching experience at the middle school, junior varsity, and varsity levels.

The Lakewood Local Schools Board of Education has hired Dr. Heather Hedgepeth as the district’s new Superintendent. She was presented and approved in a special meeting of the Board of Education on April 16, and her official start date is August 1, 2026.

The Lakewood Local School District Board of Education hereby gives public notice in accordance with Section 3307.353* of the Ohio Revised Code that Patricia Pickering, who is currently employed by the Board of Education as Director of Teaching and Learning, will be retired and seeking employment with the Lakewood Local School District in the same position following her service retirement. The Board of Education will allow for public input on this issue of re-employing the above-named person at a meeting to be held on May 20, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. in the Lakewood High School Library.
